April Ross

April Ross, a beach volleyball star American she is part of the elite group of women who have received medals from many Olympics. In Tokyo in the coming days, she'll attempt to secure her third gold together with fellow first-time Olympian Alix Klineman. Ross would like to do more than her initial Olympic medal. In fact, at 39, this could be her last opportunity to do so. She remains confident though that winning the gold medal is within reach. Ross told NBC Boston that he believes that if the team plays their best, or even one of their best games, they'll win the gold. Also, I'll take the chance to have luck. Ross, who was born 1982 and lived in Costa Mesa California with her siblings and parents, started taking part in athletics at the Newport Harbor High school. Ross was a competitive athlete in a variety of athletics while she was at Newport Harbor High School. Apart from the indoor game, she played track and basketball as an athlete in the pre-professional stage. She clearly was the top in the game of indoor volleyball. Based on her biography, she was a middle blocker and an outside hitter on the volleyball court throughout her high-school career. In recognition of her work she was awarded in 1999 as the Gatorade International Player of the year in Circle of Champions. Also, she won the 2000 Orange County Athlete of the Award for volleyball. Ross Klineman and Ross began their partnership in 2017, but Ross was an established participant on the beach for quite a while before. She has been a major player on the scene of beaches over the years. Ross actually took home several titles, and even one with a famous volleyball star. They teamed up with Jennifer Kessy from 2007-2013, and also as a coach and Klineman. Kessy as well as Ross proved to be an impressive force on the international circuit, winning their first world title in 2009. In 2012, the team received silver at the Olympics. Misty Maytreanor (Jennings) and Misty Maytreanor took home gold ahead of them. As fate would have it Ross turned out to be Walsh Jennings' new partner when May-Treanor retired. In 2016, the pair were awarded bronze medals at the Rio Olympics for beach volleyball. Ross was a student athlete for USC Trojans before her pro career. She was a player at high school and in some years prior to hitting the beach as a professional. And her run through the institution was an impressive one. Her achievements included an All-American and Pac-10 Freshman of the Year in 2000. In 2000, her Trojans made it to the Final Four. In her sophomore season, she suffered a devastating personal loss, yet was capable of being selected as an All-American. The two seasons she spent playing for the Trojans the team, she played a key role in helping to win two consecutive titles. She was a fantastic athlete, winning the Honda Sports Award in 2003-04 as the best female college volleyball player. Ross was an major in international relations at USC. Unfortunately Ross mother Margie did not get to see her daughter rise to the top levels of beach volleyball stardom. Ross's mom Margie passed away in 2001, when Ross was still in the midst of being a USC sophomore. The cancer was diagnosed as breast. Ross holds her mother close to her heart. Margie remains an inspiration at the beach and in all her lives.
