Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington resides in the United States and is a Greek-American writer, syndicated journalist as well as a businesswoman. She was co-founder of The Huffington Post, is the founder and CEO of Thrive Global as well an writer of 15 novels. Arianna Huffington is an author, philanthropist, television host, and also the proprietor of The Huffington Post. Originating from Greece Arianna Huffington emigrated to England with her family when she was age 16. In Cambridge University she earned a MA qualification in Economics. The first non-English student to graduate, she was elected president of The Cambridge Union' at the age of 21. After her graduation, she became a prominent Conservative syndicated journalist. A few more years later, she founded The Huffington Post which featured critiques of the current political scene. Her celebrity status helped her in getting several high-profile contributors to post their views about news from the world of politics and culture. Arianna gained notoriety in 2003 when she ran as an independent in the California recall elections in order to replace Governor Davis. She also headed an Detroit automobile project that was fuel efficient. Forbes named her as the most influential female in the media industry in 2009. Her ranking was 12th on the listing. The Guardian also included her on the list of 100 most influential media in 2009. AOL Inc. bought The Huffington Post in 2011 and appointed her the president of their media company, which also included the other AOL properties such as Engadget AOL Music Style list as well as Patch Media. Her parents were journalist and manager Konstantinos as well as his spouse Elli Stasinopoulos. Although she had a close relationship with both her father and mother and father, it was their relationship that helped shape her.
